This OREO delight recipe is kids friendly as it does not need an oven and is whipped up in a few minutes - even faster when everybody helps! It is a fun dessert to create with your loved ones and everybody loves OREO cookies and chocolate pudding so you will not have any leftovers!
For the crust:
1 1/3 cups OREO cookie crumbs (16 cookies)
6 tbsp melted butter
For the filling:
8 oz (226 g) softened cream cheese, at room temperature
2 3.9-ounce (110 g) pkg chocolate instant pudding
Milk for pudding as on package directions
16 oz (453 g) cool whip
1/2 cup (50 g) powdered sugar
For the topping
1 cup OREO cookies, coarsely crushed (about 12 cookies)
Start off with making the Oreo cookie crumbs. Either crush them in a food processor, or with a rolling pin. I prefer the food processor as it creates the nicest texture. Mix the OREO cookie crumbs with melted butter and spread it evenly into a prepared 9 inch baking pan to get a nice and thick crust. Freeze it until needed. Step 2:
The next step is to make the instant chocolate pudding according to the package directions. Cover it and let it set up in the fridge. Step 3:
In a large mixing bowl whisk cream cheese, half of the cool whip and powdered sugar for about 1 minute until smooth. Spread the filling on top of the OREO cookie crust. Smooth it out with a spatula. Top it with the cooled chocolate pudding and smooth it to prevent any gaps from forming.
Top the cake with the remaining half of cool whip and smooth it out. In a ziplock bag crush the rest of the OREO cookies until fairly crushed and top the dessert with OREO cookie crumbs. Refrigerate until served or enjoy immediately!
This dessert is so easy you might not even need any tools besides a spatula and a bowl.
