Popular traditional dessert in a bigger variation! Flan, Leche Flan or Crema Volteada
Flan is an easy, delicious dessert made with only a few ingredients. A family favorite and staple at our house!
Spanish Flan XXL
1 cup (100g) sugar
1/4 cup (60 ml) water
10 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 cans (24 oz) evaporated milk
2 cans (28 oz) sweetened condensed milk
Start off with making the caramel. Add water and sugar to a pan and heat it up without stirring it until the sugar dissolved. Cook it for about 3 minutes at medium heat or until the sugar is golden brown. Pour it in the baking pan while it is still hot and set aside.
In a big mixing bowl mix eggs and sweetened condensed milk until combined. Add evaporated milk and vanilla. Fill the mixture in the baking pan. Place the pan in a bigger pan, filled with hot water and bake at 350 °F for about 35 minutes.
Let it come to room temperature. When it is cold to touch, flip the baking pan on to a plate. Place it in the fridge for at least 2 hours.
Enjoy it cold!
